The Pivot pipeline

Run your text through a chain of transforms.

Paste text, stack steps — clean, dedupe, sort, change case, replace, slugify, encode — and the output updates as you go. Everything happens on this page; nothing is uploaded.

    Frequently asked questions

    Is my text uploaded anywhere?

No. Every transform runs with JavaScript inside this page, in a background worker on your own device, and your text is never sent to a server. The input is remembered only in your browser's local storage so it is still there next time; the Clear button removes it.

How do I share a pipeline?

As you build it, the steps and their options are written into the page address after the # sign. Use Copy link, and anyone who opens that link gets the same pipeline. Your input text is not part of the link.

What happens when a step fails?

If a step cannot run, for example a decode step that receives text that is not Base64 or a find and replace step with an invalid regular expression, that step shows the error and is skipped, and the rest of the pipeline still runs. A pipeline that takes longer than three seconds is stopped, so a runaway regular expression cannot freeze the tab.

Can I reorder or temporarily disable steps?

Yes. Drag a step by its handle, or use its up and down buttons, which also work from the keyboard. The switch on each step turns it off without deleting its settings, which is handy for checking what a single step contributes.

How large can the input be?

You can open or drop text files of up to 50 MB. With large input the output updates after a short pause instead of on every keystroke, and inputs over 100,000 characters are not saved in local storage.
